The main concept of the card game is to be dealt cards totaling up to twenty-one. Every gambler is assigned 2 cards. When a blackjack player is given a nine or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the black jack player receives no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been dealt all players at the table, which includes the dealer, each blackjack player is given the opportunity to make 1 of six decisions:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a player says "hit" the croupier will give them another card, if the adding of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed twenty one the gambler will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to 21 the gambler is the winner and if the value of the hand has not yet reached twenty one they’re still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been given: If a player is satisfied with the cards they will hold. As soon as this has happened the croupier will display his/her hand and the gambler who has gotten twenty one or the nearest to 21 will acquire a win.

Doubling Down: A black jack player may ask to double down which doubles the bet they have placed. Once you’ve taken this procedure you can only be given one more card. The specifics of doubling down are often out lined by the table or casino game rules so before playing be certain you are familiar with the house rules. If you’re competing at an internet casino this is normally very easy.

Watch for part 2.
